Seaweed fritters in Naples are made from “leavened dough” that is flour, yeast, water and salt.
A modest cuisine which, accompanied by other ingredients, is enriched with taste and flavor.
Ingredients
water 300 g
flour 300 g
1/2 cube brewer’s yeast
marine seaweeds 1 tuft
Salt to taste.
corn oil to taste
Preparation
Get some seaweed from the fishmonger, who keeps them on the benches to decorate the fish.
At home, wash them very carefully and cut them into small pieces.
In a bowl, dissolve the brewer’s yeast in warm water (preferably sparkling).
Add the flour, salt, and work vigorously.
Let rise under cover for at least thirty minutes.
Then add the seaweeds.
Heat the oil in a pan and dip the dough into it with a spoon.
Once golden, place them on absorbent paper and serve hot.
Your seaweed fritters are ready!
